Description

The legal cannabis market in the U.S. remains in a state of rapid growth and increasing complexity. Today, 24 states and the District of Columbia have legalized adult-use cannabis, and medical cannabis is legal in several others. However, cannabis remains illegal at the federal level, creating a significant barrier for businesses in terms of banking, taxation, and interstate commerce.

In 2025, the industry is expected to see continued growth, but with the transition to a new Administration and a new Congress, uncertainty is the name of the game when it comes to policy changes at the federal level. What we do know is that challenges like regulatory hurdles, competition from the still-strong illicit market, and the complex patchwork of state laws will continue to shape the cannabis banking landscape.

Designed for bankers already serving this industry and those who are “canna-curious," this webinar will take a deeper look at the politics surrounding cannabis reform in 2025, what to expect on the rescheduling front, and steps bankers should take now to ensure they are positioned competitively in what could be a year of significant change.
