About this Event

Event Description

Cannabis banking requires more than standard due diligence. This session outlines how to create an enhanced due diligence (EDD) framework tailored for CRBs, covering onboarding, ongoing monitoring, and customer relationship management.

Participants will explore how EDD goes beyond checklists, providing a structured way to evaluate cannabis businesses through layered risk assessments and proactive oversight. The webinar will highlight how to design a program that integrates customer interviews, operational reviews, and ongoing transaction analysis to build a full picture of client risk. Attendees will also gain insight into examiner expectations, with strategies for documenting processes that not only satisfy compliance requirements but also strengthen the institution’s reputation for managing high-risk clients responsibly.

We’ll review documentation requirements, site visits, and risk scoring tools that demonstrate a proactive compliance culture to regulators.

Learning Objectives

  • Define EDD requirements specific to cannabis accounts.

  • Incorporate site visits and licensing checks into due diligence.

  • Build risk scoring models for ongoing monitoring.

  • Document EDD processes to satisfy regulators.
