About this Event

Event Description

Cannabis banking introduces enterprise-level risks that must be integrated into the institution’s broader risk management framework. This session examines how to incorporate cannabis-specific risks into ERM programs.

Attendees will gain practical insight into how cannabis-related exposures interact with credit, operational, compliance, and reputational risk categories across the institution. The webinar will highlight best practices for building cross-departmental alignment, ensuring that cannabis risk considerations are not siloed within compliance teams but embedded into strategic planning and reporting. Through real-world examples and examiner feedback, participants will learn how to design ERM processes that capture emerging threats, quantify cannabis risk, and strengthen the organization’s ability to adapt under regulatory scrutiny or shifting market conditions.

We’ll cover risk appetite statements, stress testing, and reporting strategies that demonstrate to regulators and boards that cannabis risk is being managed holistically.

Learning Objectives

  • Map cannabis risk into enterprise risk categories.

  • Draft risk appetite statements that address cannabis banking.
